GAUNTLET

Unrivaled Access

A revolutionary gateway into the industry —
where no script is ever at the mercy of a
single gatekeeper's opinion.

The Gauntlet is not a script competition.

It is a system that grants each screenwriter access to a
pool of professional readers who actually work for well-known
agencies, studios, and production companies.

Impress them, and they could become your advocates...

Nothing like the Gauntlet exists.

Industry readers for well-known entities.
Industry readers for well-known entities.
Reps, execs, producers, and established writers.

All scripts get a direct route to at least 7 industry insiders — and more, if your script has what it takes.

* a majority of recommendations () sends a script to the next level (and a passionate minority can, as well).

It isn't always majority rules. If even just two readers rate the script highly, it climbs to the second level.

* for the initial reads, the Gauntlet is generous and elevates any script that gets passionate supporters, even if it's only two of the seven readers.

Level 1:  First 20 pages (30 if needed), plus reading logline, hook, and short synopsis.
Level 2:  Minimum half-script read; full read if first half is solid.
Level 3:  (3) Full reads and at least (2) partial reads by established writers, producers, reps, and execs.

A structured approach to vet material so quality scripts can climb to the top at a managable cost.

* the first 10 to 20 pages are critical for your script

Level 1 of the Gauntlet focusses on reading the first 20 pages of your script. Tough love, but it's a true reflection of how the industry works. If you cannot hook someone by the first 10 to 20 pages, they will NOT continue reading.

Experienced readers will also have identified issues in those 20 pages that tend to contribute to a pattern of issues throughout the rest of the script.

And...regardless of which level you reach, any single reader can choose to promote your script to a company they work for.

* readers are provided incentives, such as bonuses to promote.

The Gauntlet vs Script Competitions

Gauntlet
Competitions
Every script is seen by a minimum of 7 vetted industry readers working for known agencies, studios, and production companies.
vs
A single low-level staff member or intern could "weed out" your script before a judge even sees it.
Every script gets an equal chance to climb the ladder and be noticed.
vs
There are only so many winners, and you can be eliminated early simply by one opinion.
Get the cold hard facts by the actual people making decisions in the industry.
vs
Even if you win, you may still question if Hollywood agrees.

The Gauntlet vs Coverage Services

Gauntlet
Coverage
Receive a detailed interactive report with no less than 7 (and up to 17) opinions and tools to help navigate the different evaluations and notes.
vs
High dollar for usually a single person's taste and opinion.
Any Gauntlet analyst has the option to promote your script to the company they work for.
vs
Rarely does the service alone place your script in front of people actually working in the industry.

No A.I.

involved.

Ever.

Optimized human intelligence only.

Not only does the Gauntlet employ the highest caliber of readers,
it is the only service that created its own script reading platform
that restricts readers from using A.I. to assess a script.

Isn't it time to get real?

You haven't spent months crafting, revising, and polishing
every word of your script just to have it judged by interns
and unnoticed on bulletin-board websites.

It's time for a new approach.
